In the South East region:

 

  • 122,000, 13.20% of 16 – 24 year olds are not in employment, education or training (NEET)
  • The unemployment rate of all over 16 year olds in the South East is 6.2%
  • 34.5% from the region are deemed economically inactive
  • The unemployment rate for 16-24 year olds in the South East is 15%
  • The South East is the region with the highest percentage of schools with statements of SEN


Local organisations we’re working with:

 

  • Pie Factory – delivering Enjoying My Life music workshops for young people who were referred through the Pupils Referral Unit
  • Thanet Coastal Projects – delivering a community impact project in Ramsgate to help transform the sea front. Watch a short video of the project
  • Sheppey Youth Action – delivering the My Health Life course, using a youth worker’s expertise as a chef
  • Engage Forum – part of our Regional Board, providing local support and advertising
  • Amicus Horizon – referring young people to the project and supporting us to set up a Youth Forum for the Faversham Town Council

Latest update:

A Ramsgate’s community impact project is being delivered by 4-5 young people from Marlowe Academy in partnership with Thanet Coastal Projects. Young people in Ramsgate are making a difference to their local community by painting a picture that they designed onto a shelter on Ramsgate sea front. Watch the film here.
