In the North West region:
- 156,000, 18.40% of 16 – 24 year olds are not in employment, education or training (NEET)
- The unemployment rate of all over 16 year olds in the North West is 8.2%, 0.4% above the national average for England and Wales
- The unemployment rate for 16-24 year olds is 20%
- It’s reported 38.5% from the region are deemed economically inactive
- North West show high incidences of pupils with statements of special education needs (SEN)
- 14.81% of all young males aged 10 – 17 in Youth Offending Teams live in the North West

- Oakfield College – delivering Building My Life and a community impact project to tackle syber-bullying
- Salford Teenage Action Group(TAG) – piloting the Building My Life and Choosing My Life courses
- New Park Elementary Behavioral School – delivering Choosing My Life
- Eccles College – delivering a community impact project, which culminated in the creation of a Facebook page detailing local events and activities
Latest update:
- For the past six months, the Greater Manchester region has been heavily involved in the development and piloting of the Choosing My Life workshop. They have run successful trials with a vast range of young people in different settings to ensure that the format works for a diverse group of young people referred to the project.
